Logistics Information Network Enterprise (LINE), a wholly owned subsidiary of Hutchison Port Holdings (HPH) and Reebok International, will jointly produce a supplier portal to meet the needs of the footwear and apparel industry.
LINE's solution, the order visibility application (OVA), will lead to reduced costs, provide better access to information at critical points in Reebok's supply chain, and improve customer service levels throughout the organisation.
'Reebok has a reputation as an innovator in footwear and apparel, and we are looking forward to jointly developing OVA to provide a world-class solution for the whole industry,' said LINE chief executive, Aaron Mak.
OVA is an Internet-based solution comprising event management, work flow processing and auto messaging, delivering the latest in supply chain technology.
According to the partnership agreement signed by LINE and Reebok, both organisations will jointly design, develop and pilot a supplier's portal to meet the industry's unique requirements.
'We are very excited to be working with LINE to help fulfil our vision of a 21st century supply chain,' Reebok vice-president of MIS and chief technology officer, Peter W. Burrows, said.
