Special guests mark school's 75th year

The 75th anniversary open day at Clementi Secondary School was packed with events.

They included fund-raising for the school scholarship fund an alumni banquet and sports competition and the opening of a PTA room and a multimedia learning centre.

Guests-of-honour included Chief Justice Andrew Li Kwok- nang; Commissioner of Police Tsang Yam-pui (an old boy); and Director of Education Mat thew Cheung Kin-chung. The open day also featured traditional games and stalls with hundreds of prizes for visiting primary school pupils, parents and teachers.

Mr Cheung officially opened the day at a ribbon-cutting ceremony. He also officially opened the PTA room and inaugurated the Alumni Trophy, which is awarded to winners of an alumni sports competition.

In the evening, almost 1,000 alumni attended a banquet at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Mr Justice Li, scanning the audience of more than 1,000, said he was greatly moved by the school's loyal support and that of its past students.
