Convicted tobacco chief faces bankruptcy

The Secretary for Justice filed a bankruptcy petition in the High Court yesterday against Jerry Lui Kin-hong, 43, the former executive of British American Tobacco who was convicted of plotting to receive $23.5 million in bribes from cigarette smugglers. In April, the Court of Appeal ordered Lui to pay $11.25 million in restitution to tobacco firms.
