How much will the censors bare?

2-MIN READ2-MIN

THIS should have the TELA censors in a spin. World's primetime offering involves a beautiful sorceress who spends the duration of the film bounding around topless, and proud of it.

Given that the merest hint of a mammary - even when it's not gratuitous - usually has the censors leaping for the scissors quicker than the priest from Cinema Paradiso, the mind boggles as to how they're going to get round this one.

And, given that the film's called The Warrior and the Sorceress (World, 9.30pm, ORT 76 mins), the character in question (played by Maria Sorcas) can hardly be lopped out altogether.

Are we to expect strategically placed black boxes throughout, or - cowabunga - is Hongkong about to discover the human bod? By the way, David Carradine plays the warrior in what amounts to an outer-space version of A Fistful of Dollars. JEFFREY Combs returns to his Re-Animator role (shown last Monday) of deranged young brainiac in the sequel Bride of Re-Animator (Pearl, 9.30pm, ORT 99 mins). Bruce Abbott is also back as his horrified sidekick, and even David Gale returns as the pair's arch-enemy - apparently unfazed by his lack of a torso.

What's missing is the original director Stuart Gordon - here it's Brian Yuzna - and the wicked black humour of the first. Mind you, there's still gallons of blood. COPA America 1993 (World, 7.05pm) comprises highlights from the South American soccer cup being played in Ecuador. World begins live coverage of the event from Thursday. SALLY Round went backstage at the Byelorussian Ballet for this week's Inside Story (World, 8.30pm) to interview some principal dancers and the director of the company and to find out what goes on behind the scenes.
