HKIS head to quit post at term end

The head of Hong Kong International School (HKIS) will be leaving his post at the end of his four-year tenure next month, to return to his family in the United States.

Dr Charles Dull, head of HKIS, said he would co-author a book on striking a balance between work and family, and sit on a number of university and international school boards.

His post will be taken by Dr William Wehrenberg, who has taught at the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee and University of Geneva in Switzerland. Dr Dull believed the incoming school head's high academic standard and leadership skills would allow him to contribute to HKIS' strategic plan to launch a teacher education programme in conjunction with universities in Hong Kong and the US.

The American-style international school, which has 2,650 students, will enter its 35 anniversary in the coming academic year.
