The Executive Council has decided to award pay rises to civil servants.
I do not believe that civil servants, especially senior staff, should get this increase.
For many people in Hong Kong, times are still hard.
The Government always says the economy is improving and many private companies are increasing salaries of their staff.
Where do officials get these statistics and which companies are they talking about?
If civil servants get a salary rise, this will lead to a higher rate of inflation and we will lapse back into a recession. No one wants to see this.
I feel the administration is deceiving the people of Hong Kong. It is ridiculous to claim that civil servants will spend their increased salaries in Hong Kong rather than on the mainland and so boost the SAR's economy.
