Officer talked down

A suicidal policeman was persuaded to step back from the 35th-floor ledge of a public housing block in Sau Mau Ping after a two-hour stand-off with his colleagues and firemen. Constable Wong Siu-kin, 35, of Sau Mau Ping police station, was talked down from Man Wah House, Lok Wah South Estate, and taken to United Christian Hospital for a check-up.
