TWO men were yesterday convicted at the High Court for trafficking in two kilograms of heroin mixture. Pang Lin, 48, and Cheung Chi-wai, 42, were both found guilty by a jury. Pang, who was accused of trafficking in 1.55 kg of the drugs, and Cheung, 447 grams, will be sentenced by Mr Justice Ryan today. During the trial, the court heard evidence called by Senior Crown Counsel Caroline Ravenscroft that Pang and Cheung were intercepted by police leaving Sheung Shui railway station on August 23 last year. Heroin weighing 447 grams was found inside Cheung's jeans and almost 1.55 kg of a similar drug was found among dried squid Pang was carrying. Pang and Cheung, represented by Frank Wong and Michael Lunn, respectively, gave evidence in their defence.
