'I want to introduce more overseas bands to the local rock scene,' says Irene Sit, director of Puffin Music, organiser of Rock On.

Representing Japan will be four-piece visual rock band Duo La Quartz and one-man-band Nonoko Redrum, who plays trance music by computer sampling sound effects. Hard-rock exponents Retrogroove will be flying in from Malaysia to deliver their messages in Mandarin.

'I have seen them play live before,' Sit says. 'Their styles is different from our bands'.'

The SAR will be represented by Jun Kung (far right), instrumental rock trio DSC and the hardcore King Ly Chee (right) - as well as ACE, Cloudy, Sensation, Uncle Joe, Lam Kee, Utopia and Beyond drummer Yip Sai-wing.
