I am confused by the extra luggage charge 'some' taxi drivers implement.
One morning, I was in a taxi going to work, with the kind of small case on wheels specially designed to go in the overhead locker of planes.
The taxi driver did not charge for it, as I did not put it in the trunk. However, on my way back, when I took a taxi from the Airport Express rank in Central, the cabbie did charge me for the case, even though, again, I did not put it in the trunk. Many people use these cases for work, not just for travelling. Do they have to pay a luggage charge whenever they board a taxi? Or is it just it is different for taxis picking you up at the Airport Express taxi rank and cabbies there automatically slap on the charge? I would be interested to know the answer.
