Sun Hung Kai Properties (SHKP) has secured the Town Planning Board's approval to reduce the size of the units and lift the flat number to 672 in its Siu Sau Village project, in Tuen Mun.
It is one of its four new developments in Tuen Mun's Siu Lam area. Others are in Tai Lam Chung Tsuen, Siu Lam San Tsuen and a joint venture with Henderson Land Development in So Kwun Wat.
The developer won approval to build four 21-storey residential blocks on the 286,471 square foot site.
It could provide 372,413 sq ft of residential area and 36,953 sq ft of non-residential area with a plot ratio of 1.3 times.
In 1998, SHKP was granted to develop 360 units in three blocks on the site with the same plot ratio.
However, the company had sought to build smaller units in its new projects in Tuen Mun and Yuen Long considering the growing demand for such units in the market in the past few years.
