Hong Kong: Veteran goalkeeper Peter Guthrie became the last foreign player to be dropped by Happy Valley as the league champions completed a clear-out on current foreigners for next season. Happy Valley boss Koon Wing-yee confirmed yesterday that the 41-year-old Englishman would not be retained as he was 'too old'. Valley will use local goalkeeper Leung Cheuk-cheung next season. Last month, Koon decided not to renew the contracts of four players - Scottish striker Paul Ritchie and Brazilians Aurelio da Silva, Junior and Luis Carlos de Souza.

Koon said he would sign centre-back Guy Ambassa of now-defunct Yee Hope as one of only two foreign players for next season. Meanwhile, former Seiko and Malaysian international keeper Lim Fong-kee is likely to replace Tang Chu-sing, who quit for personal reasons, as Valley's manager.
