It is back to the drawing board for defunct Instant-Dict's president Thomas Tam Wai-tong as he attempts to help his players secure a team after the proposal on a collaboration between the Dickies and Hong Kong Football Club was rejected at Sports Road yesterday.

The proposal, which involved the inclusion of seven former Dickies players and coach Kwok Ka-ming to Club, was voted down in a Club soccer section meeting where 26 voted against the idea while 23 supported it.

Tam said the resolution didn't take him completely by surprise when being told of the result, saying: 'I expected that we might not be able to go smoothly. I'm not sure what to do now but I'll think about the next step later.'

Tam's most likely option remains fielding a team with Double Flower, whose FA membership he has borrowed over the past 10 years.

John Charleston, the most vociferous opponent of the proposal, said he was happy about the outcome.

'I voted against it. I'm deliriously happy for myself and all the members of the club. There was an extremely heated debate and it's quite clear that there is no room for the Instant-Dict players at the Football Club,' said Charleston, who has claimed that Instant have been attempting to take over Club during the past two months.
