The Ritz-Carlton is celebrating its eighth anniversary on August 16 with 'nostalgic menu' meals in Toscana and The Cafe. The menus, comprising the most popular dishes from 1993 - with prices from the same year - are available throughout August. In Toscana, the four-course meal is $488 plus 10 per cent without wine, and $688 including four selected wines. Guests start with tuna carpaccio with fennel, orange and caviar, go on to langoustine with porcini mushroom risotto, continue with a main course of rack of lamb with sauteed rice and black olives, and conclude with warm pear tart with vanilla ice-cream.
The four-course meal in The Cafe is $388 without wine and $488 with. The meal includes smoked Scottish salmon with Beluga caviar and baby greens, a special Ritz-Carlton clam chowder, and traditional mixed grill with sausage, bacon, liver and filet mignon. Stormy Weather Bar & Grill in Lan Kwai Fong has started serving a special 'S&S' combo, available from 11.30am-5pm. The soup of the day can be ordered with salad for $89 plus 10 per cent, or with a sandwich for $98. Special dishes include shaved roast beef on French bread with beef au jus, house salad with crispy fried chicken strips, and grilled tuna and tomato salsa with pita bread.
