Updated at 2.36pm: Six men were arrested in the early hours of Friday morning in connection with the recent assault on comedian and TV show host Eric Tsang Chi-wai in a Kowloon Tong club.
Officers from Kowloon West raided some 25 locations all over the territory, including entertainment premises in Wan Chai and Tsim Sha Tsui. The six suspects are aged between 22 and 51.
Mr Tsang was attacked by three men with torches, ashtrays and bottles in the Boundary Street club on July 7.
The assault, which left Mr Tsang with 21 stitches in his forehead, shocked the showbiz world, prompting calls for Government action against showbiz violence.
Mr Tsang disappeared for a week following the attack, before returning to work to host the Miss Hong Kong final wearing a bandana to hide his wounds. He declined to say who might have wanted him beaten up, what he might have done to provoke it or where he had been hiding.
