Rates start from US$49 per room, per night, when a minimum of two nights are booked at the new Sofitel Central Plaza Bangkok. www.sofitel.com Suite roll-out United Airlines has now rolled out its first-class flat bed on its international Boeing 777 and 747 fleet. United recently completed the installation of its First Suite on the last of its 44 Boeing 747-400s, after beginning installation across all aircraft in 1999. The United First Suite is a personal environment that can convert from an airborne office to a six-foot, six-inch long bed at the push of a button. Passengers gain from 78 inches of pitch and a layout that places every suite in the United first class cabin on an aisle. The United First Suite also has amenities needed for an airborne office, including in-seat phones with data transmission ports, laptop power outlets and personal storage and workspace, ergonomically designed seats with adjustable leg and headrests and lumbar support and a mechanism that provides massage-like relief to the back during long flights. www.united.com Dusit summer The Thailand-based Dusit hotel group has unveiled discount summer rates valid until October 31. Guests will be picked up at the airport and taken to their hotel of choice. www.asiahotelsalliance.com Sleeper flights Korean Air has added daily sleeper flights to its New York-Seoul and Los Angeles-Seoul routes, and has introduced sleeper service to its Chicago-Seoul route. There are now a total of five sleeper flights daily between the US and South Korea. The New York flights offering sleeper service are: Flight 082 departing JFK at 1 pm and flight 088 departing Newark at 11.30 pm. The sleeper flights from Los Angeles International Airport to Seoul are flight 018 at 12.20 pm and flight 012 at 12.30 am. Chicago is being serviced by flight 088 that departs O'Hare Airport at 2.30 am. Formerly the War Bonnet Inn, the renovated 131-room Red Lion Hotel Butte offers six suites with complementary airport shuttle to Butte Silver Bow Airport. The hotel is owned and operated by Virginia Karlsen under a licence agreement with Red Lion Hotels, a franchise subsidiary of Beverly Hills-based Hilton Hotels. The hotel offers travel rewards through the Red Lion Club programme, including free stays, Hilton HHonors bonus points and US savings bonds. www.redlion.com Air order Northwest Airlines has ordered 75 Bombardier CRJ440 regional airliners powered by General Electric CF34-3B1 engines. The order is valued at more than US$300 million. Delivery is scheduled to begin from July next year. Northwest has also secured options to purchase 25 more CRJ aircraft from 2006.
