Pacific Century CyberWorks has named Robert Nicholson as senior adviser to the board. Mr Nicholson will advise on strategic transactions and have overall responsibility for legal and regulatory affairs. He has been a senior partner with Richards Butler since 1985, where he established the law firm's corporate and commercial department. He qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales in 1980, and in Hong Kong in 1992.

Networking equipment maker Redback Networks has appointed Joshua Chao as vice-president for Asia-Pacific. Mr Chao will be responsible for driving Redback's sales in the region. Most recently, he was China product marketing vice-president for Lucent Technologies' optical networking group. In that capacity, he had overall responsibility for Lucent's optical networking products, applications and systems for the mainland market. He began his career at Bell Labs, Lucent's research and development arm.

Application server software vendor Citrix Systems has appointed Angel Lee as marketing manager for North Asia, based in Hong Kong. Ms Lee will be responsible for channel and alliance marketing activity in Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea and China. Previously, she served as marketing manager at BMC Software's Greater China headquarters in Hong Kong.

Software services provider Wilco International has selected Mark Dunstan to fill the new position of regional sales manager for Asia-Pacific. Mr Dunstan will be responsible for the company's Hong Kong, Tokyo and Sydney offices. He joined the company last year after leaving Thomson Financial Software Solutions and has 14 years' experience in sales and marketing in the financial and information-technology sectors. Previously, Mr Dunstan was Wilco's strategic alliance manager, based in London.
