Travellers left holding bookings when online travel Web site ebookit.com suddenly ceased operations will still be able to take trips for which they have paid.
'All tickets that have been issued are valid,' said Rupert Purser, managing director of Baker Tilly, the site's liquidator.
The corporate restructuring firm is seeking a buyer for the ebookit group, which enabled consumers to book flights, hotel rooms and car rentals at www
.ebookit.com until shutting down this week.
'We have done a brief check, and there is no one who has paid for a ticket and not received it,' Mr Purser said.
One relieved ebookit customer said his long-awaited Air France ticket had arrived yesterday, the day after the Web site posted a message that it had suspended operations pending a restructuring with strategic partners.
'I'm delighted,' said the client, who had anxiously awaited his confirmation after planning to fly to Italy for a two-week holiday at the end of this month.
