Plea for sympathy was undignified

As a frequent traveller based in Hong Kong, I have grown sick and tired of reading about the Cathay Pacific dispute every day in the press.

While I admit I am not an aviation expert, I do believe that we should all be held responsible for our actions. Cathay pilots belonging to the union which choses to fight for better pay by not doing their jobs properly, should have known that there would be a potential price to pay - in this case, the sacking of some of them.

Instead of presenting their wives and children to the media in an attempt to win public sympathy, the union should have spared them the embarrassment and let the pilots pay the price for their actions with dignity.
