Cathay Pacific is launching a series of ultra-cheap tickets to Asian destinations in the midst of its dispute with pilots, which has contributed to a downturn in business.
For $6,800 passengers will get three round trips, choosing from a list of 17 destinations.
Options include Bangkok, Cebu, New Delhi, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Nagoya, Osaka, Penang, Seoul, Singapore, Surabaya, Taipei and Tokyo.
The announcement came a week after the airline revealed it had lost almost a quarter of its passengers in July, compared to last year, because of pilot industrial action, Typhoon Utor and the global economic downturn.
However, Cathay denied the 'Asia Pass' offer was prompted by the industrial dispute, saying it was normal to have special offers in the off-season.
A spokeswoman said sickness levels among pilots had returned to normal early last week and that no cancellations - other than to Colombo and Manchester - were planned for September.
