Outsourcing services company Vsource faces an uncertain future after computer maker Gateway moved to review a deal that allows it to resell Gateway products in Hong Kong and Singapore.

Gateway was reconsidering its partnerships in the region after this week closing all company-owned, Asia-Pacific operations to focus on its core US market, a Gateway spokesman said.

Vsource has been running Gateway's stores at Times Square in Causeway Bay and Manning House in Central since July, days after Gateway decided to close its Hong Kong office and its stores in Kowloon Tong and Sha Tin.

Vsource has offered employment to former Gateway sales and marketing staff.

Under the agreement, Vsource is to operate the remaining Gateway retail stores and provide customer-relationship management for the computer maker.

The company also retained responsibility for warranty and technical support for Gateway customers in Hong Kong and Singapore.
