I refer to Ajmal Samuel's letter (South China Morning Post, August 27) about the lack of wheelchair access to the ATMs at our HSBC Hay Wah Building branch in Wan Chai.

We apologise to Mr Samuel and other wheelchair users that such access is not available.
We are looking at installing a ramp approach or stair lift at the branch. Our branch redesign is being reviewed to ensure we meet building and renovation codes.
Mr Samuel and other wheelchair users are welcome in the meantime to contact our branch staff, who will do their utmost to help them gain access to our services and facilities.
We apologise for the inconvenience caused to Mr Samuel and other wheelchair users and plan to rectify this problem soon.
