Accountant named to HSBC board

Brian Stevenson has been appointed a non-executive director of HSBC. An accountant by profession, Mr Stevenson opened a Hong Kong office of Turquands Young (the predecessor firm of Ernst & Young) in 1974 and became managing partner of the firm in 1981 and senior partner of the Far East practice in 1989.
