Boston Public
Pearl, 8.30pm
Series creator David E Kelley may want to dramatise things for the sake of entertainment, but this episode is a bit too close for comfort. To know there is a high school in America that actually maintains its own SWAT team is even more scary. This is the ninth episode of Boston Public and, so far, it has touched upon many sensitive, albeit relevant, topics including teacher-student relations, drug abuse, sex, peer pressure and cheating. There have been instances before where Harry Senate (Nicky Katt) fired a gun in class and Steven Harper (Chi McBride, above with Jessalyn Gilsig) talked about installing metal detectors, but the introduction of a SWAT team is a first.
The Fugitive
Pearl, 9.30pm
After being chased from one small town to the next, Dr Richard Kimble (Tim Daly) finally gets some respite when he meets a computer geek, Chuck Brixius (Devon Gummersall, above). Brixius belongs to a group dedicated to proving Kimble's innocence through their Web site, Dr.RichardKimble.com. I tried logging on, but didn't get close.
