A group of residents of Lai Sing Court in Tai Hang, backed by Hongkong Land, have raised objection to the Town Planning Board's proposal to impose building-height and plot-ratio restrictions in North Point and Tai Hang.
Hongkong Land plans a US$200 million redevelopment for Lai Sing Court.
Last month, the Town Planning Board proposed a 30-storey height limit and a maximum plot ratio of five times on new buildings or redevelopments in North Point and Tai Hang.
Surveyors said the Lai Sing Court redevelopment would be affected by the proposed height and building-density controls.
The board last week received 172 objections to its proposal, with more than 90 per cent raised by Lai Sing Court residents, a board spokesman said.
Hongkong Land executive director Robert Wong said the firm had agreements with about 90 per cent of residents of Lai Sing Court to be its developer, should the project be approved.
