Founder (Hong Kong) is a software-development and systems integrator for the publishing, banking and retail industries and distributes computers throughout the mainland.
Founder's parent company, Founder Group, was established in 1992 by Beijing University and, after years of development, Founder has taken as much as 80 per cent in market share in publishing systems that cater for Chinese newspapers.
A recent Core Pacific-Yamaichi stock report describes Founder as financially healthy.
It said Founder was extending its business into broadcasting.
The company, however, issued a profit warning last month, indicating Founder would record substantial losses for the six months to June 30. The culprit behind this warning was seen by Core Pacific as being the poor performance of the company's non-media system integration business.
All things considered, the report suggested a 'buy on weakness' recommendation for Founder's stock.
