Club lifts ban on Japanese, Koreans

Sydney: One of Australia's most exclusive surfing clubs, the Palm Beach Surf Life Saving Club in Sydney, has dropped a 55-year-old rule banning Japanese and Koreans from being members. The rule was a legacy of the anger and bitterness felt by prisoners of war who returned home at the end of World War II, South China Morning Post correspondent Nick Squires reported.
