Chinese military pistol suspected in fatal shooting at restaurant

A Chinese military-issue Black Star pistol was probably used to kill restaurateur Kwan Tak-ming, 44, who was shot three times at close range in an apparent ambush outside his restaurant on Tuesday, police said yesterday, after confirming the weapon used was a 7.62mm semi-automatic pistol.

Last night, the gunman, who was wearing a white mask, a cap and black-collared shirt at the time of the attack, was still at large. He was last seen fleeing after the attack outside the Hoover Restaurant in Tai Man Street, Chai Wan, shortly before midnight on Tuesday.
