Updated at 4.15pm: Police on Friday were appealing for information on the identity of a man whose charred body was found in Shenzhen in March. Police said the body was discovered at the Baizhangbou section of Longping Highway near Longgang County on March 9. ''Whether the man was a resident of Hong Kong is yet to be ascertained,'' a police spokesman said. The deceased was in his early 20s and 1.7 metres tall. Police said the body had a square face, thick eyebrows and short hair dyed a golden colour. Last November, the charred remains of Hong Kong democracy activist and bookstore owner Leung Wah, 44, were found in Shenzhen. He had been murdered.
