I refer to the medical profession's recent opinion survey on the recommendations made by the Medical Council's Working Group on Reform.
Members of the profession have been sent by the council a questionnaire to be returned without a name or signature. Given that the questionnaire deals with politically sensitive topics, it is proper the questionnaire should not reveal the identity of the person replying.
However, there is a number on each questionnaire which would enable the council to identify the person replying.
Is this a way of trying to intimidate members of the profession into giving the answers the council wants? I believe the Medical Council owes the profession an answer.
I hope it will withdraw the present questionnaires and send out another batch without the numbers.
