Hong Kong's premier coffee expert has chosen a tiny outlet in Tsim Sha Tsui as her favourite venue for a cappuccino or espresso.
Sheryl Coughlin named First Cup, in Lock Road, as the best place for a cup of coffee despite fierce competition from the big coffee chains.
'It offers a really good cup of coffee, all styles, and does cappuccino properly, which is a hobby of mine,' she said.
'The people behind the bar know what they are doing and they have good beans that have a smooth caramel and chocolate flavour.'
Ms Coughlin said coffee beans in the SAR often were too dark roasted, creating bitterness instead of smoothness.
'I've had some of my worst cups of coffee in Hong Kong. In particular you get this tea and coffee mixture drink here which is terrible,' she said.
