Hong Kong police searched the American International School in Kowloon Tong after evacuating 600 students and teachers following a bomb threat. The students and teachers were led to safety in a nearby park while teams of officers searched the premises in Waterloo Road. The officers failed to find any suspicious objects. Police said that a man with a Middle Eastern accent had telephoned school staff at about noon to say a bomb had been placed on the premises. After an hour's search the students were allowed to return to the school. Police were last night still trying to track down the caller.
