Updated at 2.33pm: A right-of-abode claimant was speaking on a mobile phone alleging that someone was going to die, to commit suicide, an hour before the fatal fire broke out according to a video being played in court Thursday.
Sze Kwan-lung, 24, who prosecutors alleged was the leader of the fatal arson attack, was also captured walking in and out of Room 1301 at Immigration Tower, Wan Chai, in the afternoon of August 2 last year.
Prosecutors are playing in the Court of First Instance the first of four tapes which filmed activities inside the 20-square-metre room from 4.30pm onwards.
Sporting a fishing hat, Lam Siu-sing, 26, one of the two victims, was seen holding a plastic bottle in his hands, sitting on the front row of four benches.
Sze, Pang Hon-kwan, 40, Fu Mo, 38, Lam Hing-luen, 27, brothers Yeung Yee-ping, 29, Yeung Yee-yim, 38, and Chau Hung-chuen, 30, have pleaded not guilty to two counts of murder and one of arson.
Also killed was senior immigration officer Leung Kam-kwong, 42, who died in hospital on August 11 last year, 11 hours after Lam was certified dead.
