The woman, 20, said she woke up in the room to find Glade Whinham Poulsen having sex with her.

She tried to break away and cried, the Court of First Instance heard.

Poulsen, 47, pleaded not guilty to rape. The offence allegedly took place on February 16 at a room in the Renaissance Harbour View Hotel, Wan Chai.

Prosecutor Peter Duncan said in his opening speech the alleged victim, a Filipina, came to Hong Kong to visit her aunt in January. On February 15, the woman followed her aunt, a bar waitress, to Wan Chai. She later went on her own to the La Bamba Disco in Luard Road.
