HOW does one try to catch Michael Jackson's concerts in Hongkong without resorting to buying a ticket? Simple. You apply to be the support band. That's the ingenious ploy attempted by the boys of PNS, the local band fronted by Michael Peart (aka Judge Mikey Mike D), whose broad repertoire includes locally-flavoured offerings such as Legco A Go-Go and The Basic Law - which, coming to think about it, should sit in perfect lyrical juxtaposition with Jackson's own hits like Heal The World and Don't Stop Until You Get Enough. In making his offer to promoter Andrew Bull of Arena, the PNS point man writes: ''I personally sleep in an oxygen tent, our bass player once met Oprah Winfrey, the group are heavily into Disneyland, chimps and llamas and our drummer also has a facial pigmentation problem''. Nice try, Peart. Next? HOW does one try to catch Michael Jackson's concerts in Hongkong without resorting to buying a ticket? Simple. You apply to be the support band.
