A three-year-old girl was fighting for her life in hospital last night after falling from the window of her second-floor bedroom in a Yuen Long village. Kindergarten pupil Lam Hoi-kei was drinking milk in the three-storey house in Tai Tseng Wai at about 12.45pm yesterday when she fell. Her grandparents, four-year-old sister and 18-month-old brother were in the ground-floor living room at the time, while her 25-year-old mother had been fetching her seven-year-old sister from school. Her father, a metal worker, was at work. A police spokesman said Hoi-kei fell about 10 metres. She was found on the ground outside by a 31-year-old neighbour who called the police. Hoi-kei was in a semi-conscious state when emergency crews arrived. She suffered multiple injuries and underwent surgery in Tuen Mun Hospital, where she was listed as critical. Neighbours told police the girl and her sisters had been seen climbing up to the window on previous occasions.
