Temperatures are expected to drop to about 14 degrees Celsius this week. A spokesman from the Observatory said yesterday a 'relatively strong northeast monsoon' would cause temperatures to slip from 22 degrees Celsius - recorded yesterday - to 14 by Thursday. But some hot-pot restaurants forecast the drop last week and have been stocking up on ingredients. A manager from Tsim Sha Tsui's Zhin Ford Club said the restaurant had already placed orders for more hot pot ingredients in anticipation of the weather change. 'A few days ago we noticed the weather getting colder and ordered extra hot-pot food. We have been in the restaurant business for years so we know this time [of year] is always good for hot-pot.'
