SAE Magnetics finds a home in Science Park
SAE Magnetics, a subsidiary of TDK Corp, will move its Hong Kong headquarters into the Hong Kong Science and Technology Park (HKSTP), becoming the 11th tenant in the government-backed project.
With SAE taking up 118,950 square feet in the Science Park, 46 per cent of Phase One's total floor area of one million sq ft is now leased.
Other tenants include Advanced Analogic Technologies, Group Sense International, Kinetana Hong Kong Herbal Pharmaceuticals, ON Semiconductor and REnex Technology.
'The new premises in the Science Park will be the centre to develop our competence in innovation and technology, and integrate our worldwide operations including wafer technology in Silicon Valley and manufacture in Dongguan [China],' SAE chairman Ng Wai-hung said.
President Raymond Leung expected rapid growth in production of magnetic recording heads for computer hard disks.
'We need a good environment for our colleagues to work on future research and development projects,' Mr Leung said.
