The Housing Authority has been criticised for substandard front doors at more than 380,000 public housing flats, which legislators say could put more than one million lives at risk from fire.

Democrat Andrew Cheng Ka-foo said flats in more than 91 older housing estates had 'hollow' front doors that did not meet fire safety regulations implemented in 1996. But Secretary for Housing Dominic Wong Shing-wah said doors were not the only factor in fire safety. He said a review was being conducted.
