Figures reveal karaoke crime

Running out without paying a bill is one of the most common offences at karaoke bars, according to a Security Bureau paper. The bureau said a total of 462 crimes were reported between January last year and September this year at karaoke bars in Wan Chai, Yau Ma Tei, Tsim Sha Tsui and Mongkok. There were 109 cases of assault, 82 cases of theft and 63 cases of 'making off without payment'.
