What happens when you extend a hand of friendship and it is rejected with a snub?
Well, Chief Executive Tung Chee-hwa was recently spurned by a noodle shop owner during a visit to Tsuen Wan. Having shook hands with several onlookers, Mr Tung walked towards the man who waved him off, refusing to shake his hand.
The smiling Chief Excutive reportedly turned back to the person he shook hands with before to avoid further embarrassment.
In a way, it is comforting to learn that even dignitaries are not spared this kind of playground behaviour. But what would you do in a case like this?
Here are some tips:
Be polite, bow and move on. (Resorting to violence is no solution).
Smile and walk away.
