Computer Associates International (CA) has embarked on a global rebranding of its products and a major push for its business intelligence tools.

New York-based CA, the world's third-largest independent software firm, yesterday unveiled new brand names for its information management portfolio.

'This rebranding underscores commitment to clarify the scope and depth of our vast portfolio of technologies. The more customers and potential customers fully comprehend the remarkable business value of our technologies, the more they will effectively use these resources,' said vice-president of marketing Carl Hartman.

They join CA's more established brands: Jasmine, for object-oriented database technology; Unicenter, the company's flagship e-business infrastructure management software; BrightStor, for data storage management, backup and recovery; and eTrust, a security product portfolio that includes access/authentication control, virus protection and digital certificate management.
