Phoebe, who scored seven As and one B in the HKCEE, is the head girl in her class. She got A(1)s in Principles of Account, Geography, Economics and Use of English.

Phoebe said there were a lot of differences between the two exams as A-level candidates were brighter and more standardised.

''The A-level exam requires analysis and understanding while the HKCEE only demands memorisation and facts,'' Phoebe said.

''In fact, I did not have good results in Form 6. I gave up all my posts at school and studied very hard this year.'' When she was in Form 6, Phoebe was the house captain, the editor of the English section of the school newspaper, and the chairman of the Careers Unit and the English Society.

Phoebe shared her secret of success. ''One should have one's own study method. Some might be more efficient during the day, while others are energetic at night. One should stick to the method which suits one best. Also, never give up.'' Being the youngest in the family, Phoebe said all family members gave her their full support.

''They all knew I was very nervous about the exam and they did not give me any pressure,'' she said.
