I salute our two gold medal cycling heroes at the Ninth All China National Games, Ho Siu-lun and Wong Kam-po.
Cycling is a very good sport. The Government should, wherever possible, be promoting it as it is good for your health. However, officials are not always doing what they should to get people on their bikes.
The cycling track around Shing Mun River in Sha Tin, was constructed about 20 years ago.
It has become very popular with young people, who love cycling there, especially during holiday periods.
However, the track has now deteriorated so badly that you can hardly find an area of it that is in reasonable condition.
This is because it is heavily used and also because bits of the track have, from time to time, been dug up for repair work. Consequently, there are bumps and holes everywhere.
It has now become extremely dangerous to cycle on this track.
