ON July 8 the South China Morning Post carried reports that the A-Level results were not as good as previous years.

  That is obviously a fact. However, when the results are compared with those of England and Wales, the Hongkong schoolchildren achieve a higher success rate, if my memory serves me correctly.

  So bemoan the particular fall but praise the excellent overall picture.
