I WOULD like to congratulate Julian Pettifer for being brave enough to break the conspiracy of silence that still persists among journalists about their misrepresentation of the Indo-China War, (South China Morning Post, July 6). Perhaps if journalists were honest about their misunderstanding of the Indo-China situation 20 years ago, they could have used their power of the press to call the world's attention the genocide in Cambodia during the late 1970s as effectively as they have the genocide in the former Yugoslavia today.
