Many people in Hong Kong are always moaning that after the handover in 1997, the situation in Hong Kong became serious and they blame Tung Chee-hwa. Our problems have nothing to do with the Chief Executive. He has inherited those problems from previous Hong Kong administrations. Unlike some politicians elsewhere in the region, he is an honest man. Our problems have been caused by inflated property prices of earlier years. Some landlords are still refusing to reduce rents.
