International trainer Graeme Rogerson has a gleam in his eye when he talks about the 25-1 odds being offered about Century Kid winning the Sprint. Rogerson, a New Zealander by birth, is in the rare position of having big stables running in New Zealand, Sydney and Melbourne and, most recently, Dubai. Having seen plenty of reigning Sprint champion Falvelon in Australia, Rogerson is surprised at the difference in their prices. 'We missed the spring carnival in Melbourne to concentrate on this race,' Rogerson said. 'We might have made a little mistake in trying to get this horse to run longer distances but Century Kid is a tremendous short-course horse fresh. We've met Falvelon twice this year and the score is one win each. He beat us in a Group One in Brisbane at 1,350 metres, but when they met at 1,200 metres, my horse was too good.'
