THE emergence of open systems technology in the market has made integration of different hardware platforms and software tools a key concern among developers and users. Thus, multi-vendor connectivity elicits great interest in the information technology field. In order to popularise the concept and application of open systems in the territory, the Hongkong Productivity Council (HKPC) has been asked to be the technical organiser of the Systems Integration Pavilion by Adsale Exhibition Services, the organiser ofSEARCC '93 Exhibition. The Systems Integration Pavilion is expected to be an extension of the Open Systems Pavilion in CENIT ASIA '92. But it will have a broader coverage and include latest developments in the field of open systems. The exhibits will mainly cover four areas. Application developers and systems integrators will exhibit their ''total solutions'' in different business sectors; systems integration, of the latest hardware and software, will be another area; how CAD/CAM integrates different hardware devices together to build the best and most updated combination will be yet another field; finally, connectivity, the fundamental concept behind systems integration and its application to training services, will be featured. A series of seminars will be held concurrently. International speakers and technical/marketing consultants will give visitors a comprehensive view on systems integration.
