Payout raised for basketball post victim

Hui Yiu-wing, 20, who suffered brain damage and speech impairment after a basketball post fell on him while he was playing a game eight years ago, was awarded an extra $250,000 in damages. The Court of Appeal increased damages of $100,000 for loss of earning capacity to $350,000, bringing the total to $1.15 million.
